Patrons of Buddhasāsana

KingandQueen.jpg

...I think to myself that Buddhasāsana is the most noble and supreme. It has been cherished by the Thai nation since Sukhothai Era. Because Buddhasāsana is the most pristine purity, everyone then wishes that it must not be involved in politics. I said this in front of 4000 Thai students (in Germany) that Buddhasāsana should be upheld above our heads. And it is the shining light in the hearts of all the Thais. Sometimes politics goes wrong and sometimes it is tarnished. Noble Buddhasāsana should not be brought as part of the supreme law of the land, that is the Constitution. Better leave Buddhasāsana as it is. Buddhasāsana should always be held in high esteem. When I finished speaking, the students all applauded loudly throughout the function...

In Thailand, I have learned that people who profess Buddhasāsana are more than 90 percent. Buddhasāsana shall not be allowed to be bullied. It is better that the Supreme Buddhasāsana is separated from politics...

Noble Buddhasāsana is the religion of the Thai Nation since Sukhothai Era. The monarchs of Sukhothai upon being crowned, always made a vow to protect Buddhasāsana with their lives. Today it is still the same with His Majesty the the present King and is also within the tradition of all people. Buddhasasāsana is the most precious in the lives of all Thais --the confidence in our lives in time of trouble. Buddhasāsana is the beacon of guiding light and, thus, it will never disintegrate nor ever fall apart...
