カラヤニ殿下のメッセージ
世界の主要な機関にこの40冊セットのパーリ三蔵を贈呈することが出来、大変光栄です。これが1956年に行われた2500人のテーラワーダ僧侶による国際結集を基にした世界初のローマ字パーリ三蔵の印刷物で、2500年以上保存されてきた人類の悟りの遺産なのでとても大切なものになります。
最初の三つセットは2005年に大僧正様の後援下にあるタイ・ダンマ・ソサエティ財団によって出版されました。最初のセット2005年3月6日にスリランカに贈呈された。私がその贈呈式に出席するためスリランカ大統領の招待を受けて、コロンボを訪問しました。その三蔵のセットは今、コロンボの大統領府に安置されています。又、タイ国の特別版は2005年8月15日に贈呈され、現在バンコクの憲法裁判所に安置されています。そして西洋の国々のための特別版は2005年9月13日にスウェーデンに贈呈され、現在ウプサラ大学の図書館に保存されています。
ローマ字パーリ三蔵の贈呈は私の祖父であるチュラロンコーン王が出版したタイ文字パーリ三蔵の出版に次いで賞賛に値する行為です。チュラロンコーン王は1893年に世界で初めてパーリ三蔵を本の形に製作し、その260セット以上を世界の主要な機関に贈呈しました。スリランカとスウェーデンではキャンディーの舎利塔とウプサラのCAROLINA REDIVIVAに大事に保存されています。
この贈呈式の後、更に千セットが世界の主要な機関に贈呈される予定です。そしてこの贈呈計画の一環として国際的な三蔵研究も始められることになっています。主要な機関での三蔵研究が三蔵の知識と現在の知識を結びつけることになります。この統合とパーリ三蔵の正しい理解が永遠の平和と国際社会の安全を保障すること思われます。
この国際版のパーリ三蔵の出版と贈呈による功徳が世界の人々にいつまでも英知と幸福そして繁栄を与える様にお祈りします。

National News on the World Tipiṭaka Project
The Dhamma Society's World Pāḷi Tipiṭaka Project in Roman Script was granted an audience by Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn at her residence on March 20, 2008.
Chancellor of the Dhamma Society Fund respectfully informed the Princess of the formal request form Japan in 2007 for the royal donation of the World Tipiṭaka Edition in Roman script and the forthcoming plan in 2008 for the Presentation Ceremony in Osaka.
Also present in the party included a representative of the Royal Thai Air Force, President of Princess Galyani's Tipiṭaka Endowment Fund Project and Patrons of the World Tipiṭaka.
The World Tipiṭaka Edition will be presented as a Royal Gift of Wisdom & Peace to leading institutions in Japan which received the royal gift of Tipiṭaka from Princess Chulabhorn's Great-Grand Father, King Chulalongkorn Chulachomklao of Siam, over a century ago.
The Royal Tipiṭaka Donation was graciously initiated by the late H.R.H. Princess Galyani Vadhana, the Royal Matriarch of Thailand, who was the Founding Honorary President of the World Tipiṭaka Presentation Worldwide. The 40-volume set in Roman script was published by Dhamma Society Fund in Bangkok in 2005.

Dhamma Society's World Tipiṭaka in Roman Script Meeting with Eminent Professor of Buddhist Studies in Nagoya.
Professor Egaku MAYEDA, D.LTT. has been invited to give a welcoming greeting to guests at the Nittaiji Temple in Nagoya before the World Tipitaka Recitation starts.
Professor Mayeda is one of the most senior Pali Buddhist scholars and is well respected and known nationally and internationally.
He is a graduate of Tokyo University and was responsible for starting a centre for Theravada Buddhist Studies at the Aichigakuin University in Nagoya, and served as professor there for many years before his retirement. He is about 84 (b. 1924) now. His Doctoral thesis is 'A History of the Formation of Original Buddhist Texts' (1964) was highly acclaimed and has since become a classic in Buddhist Studies in Japan. He was given one of the most coveted prizes for the same.
He has written many scholarly articles and books, one of which is on Sri Lankan Buddhism called 'Contemporary Buddhism in Sri Lanka' (1986) for which he won an academic prize. He has been holding very important and responsible posts in the academic circles including the Japanese Association of Buddhist and Indian Studies, the Society for the Study of Pali and Buddhist Culture (its Founder President), etc.
He has also been honored with many honorary titles from abroad including Sri Lanka, India, etc. His fields of studies include Theravada Buddhism, Chinese Buddhism, and Japanese Buddhism.
A direct descendant of the renown shogun of Nagoya, he is the present Incumbent of a famous temple in the area called Mayeda in Nagoya (hence his name) belonging to the Judo-shin school of Buddhism (Pure Land School).
